Some of last week’s guitars

Aria Pro II NXG Custom Shop

Detached bridge and lacquer damage repairs + setup.

Ibanez ICT700 Iceman

Installation of two push-pull pots and wiring to coil split the inside coils. A new Graphtech nut and setup in drop C with custom string set for balanced tension.

Fender Stratocaster HSH

Setup in E standard with Gilmour style floating trem.

Modern Stratocaster

I forget the actual name of this model, I think it’s a late 90’s modern Strat with a roller nut, Hipshot Tremsetter and 2 point trem. The names of all the different Strats through the ages are numerous and confusing. A new pickguard with Seymour Duncan JB set was installed, plus a setup with gauge 9’s. Which do you prefer, before or after?

Acoustics

Epiphone Dove acoustic and a Yahama APX700 in for restring and fret level and setup. The Yamaha was strung with the new D’Addario XS strings which are high quality steel cores, tin plated and polymer coated. D’Addario say they will last 5 times longer. I’m testing them on some of my guitars at the moment and they’re ace.

Gibson Explorer ‘76 (2001)

Setup with D’Addario XS 10-46 in E standard, new Switchcraft 3 way switch with killswitch wiring, replacement volume pot.

Tokai T-type

If you’ve seen the Beer Pigs you may have seen this. We swapped the bridge pickup for a Bare Knuckle Boot Camp Old Guard.
