For my money, these are coated strings that are finally worth investing in. Dispersion tin plated high carbon steel plain strings and wound strings coated with a polymer give excellent strength and corrosion resistance. They also have a slightly smoother feel, which I dig but some may not.

The XS strings have been getting really popular in the workshop lately, I have them on several of my electric guitars now and I think they’re epic. They are also available for acoustic guitars and mandolins.
