We recently had the pleasure of restoring this treasured family Oud to its former glory. This style of Oud has 11 strings, and is similar to a Lute in looks. The Oud is fretless, it also has a thinner neck than that of a traditional Lute.

There are a few theories about the origins of the Oud, which the guys at Arabic Instruments discuss in their great blog piece here. 

Our Oud customer happens to be an awesome photographer, so we were lucky enough to get these great photos of James while he worked.
